 The first victims created a confusing mystery to who the Zodiac killer was because of a few reasons. To start they were outstanding people without any reason to be killed. But them being the first victims before becoming a part of the Zodiac's kill list left the police thinking that this was just a usual homicide case. So they first look at Betty Lou's ex boyfriend Ricky, gun toting locals, and eventually look towards their classmates for more information. Eventually everyone had an alibi whether it was about the guns involved or where everyone was at the time of the homicide. The real first suspect they had an eye on slipped through the police departments fingers as they very possibly met face to face on a crime scene. This happened after the Zodiac murdered a cab driver while a 14 year girl and her 2 brothers watched and called the police. The girl describes the killer as a white man in a dark jacket, but when patrolmen Donald Fouke and Eric Zelms arrived to the scene for reasons unknown they were searching for a black man. So when they ran into a white man going in the same direction the girl on the phone said the killer left in, they didn't detain him or take him in for questioning. Instead the police men asked if he had seen anything suspicious and then fell for the man's false tip. By the time they realized he was lying the mysterious male had disappeared. However, at the very least there was a bloody hand print found in the cab that wasn't the victims and had a sketch made of the man they ran into, and had become their closest discovery to unmasking the Zodiac yet. Eventually, about 50 years later a team known as "The Case Breakers" announced that they have revealed the real identity of the Zodiac killer through the letters and deciphers. The man the suspected was named Garry Francis Poste and had similar scars on his forehead to the sketch. They also discovered that if you remove the letters in his name from the deciphers that you can find alternate meanings. He also was connected to having hospital treatment close to the site close to a murder, had a blood splattered watch, and boots and guns that matched to previous homicides connected to the Zodiac. Unfortunately, if he was the killer we most likely won't know because he died in 2018. To this day no-one knows for sure who the Zodiac truly is and may never know.

 To start off the timeline we have a couple named Betty Lou Jensen and Dave Faraday murdered in a lovers lane by Vallejo high school by multiple gunshot wounds. The police had no leads or evidence on who could have committed double homicide. The next event was an attempted double homicide against Darlene Ferrin and Michael Mageau. Mike barely survived but did not share the same fate with Darlene as she passed away after being shot multiple times. They once again had no idea who killed her and was about to start suspecting some of her ex boyfriends. 2 minutes after Darlene's death was confirmed SFPD received a mysterious phone call stating that he had killed 2 people in a brown car and confirmed that he also killed those two kids earlier that year. Blog 1 introduction

The case I chose was the Zodiac killer's, year long killer moniker. This case is about a serial killer who was never caught after attacking at least seven people with the intent to kill them. This case happened between the dates of  December of 1968 to December of 1969. This case was located within various locations in San Francisco, California.  A reason I chose this case was because of how weird of a killer the Zodiac killer was. Usually whenever a killers victim is found they would at least try to clean the scene or give the least amount of evidence that could be held against them. But instead of doing that, for some reason he gave the police as much evidence as he could. This could be leaving bullet casings, leaving messages on cars, sending letters to the police station, etc. He would even call in to shows when people were trying to lie about being him.
